We love our pigs. We think you will too!

We are raising our pigs the old fashioned way on 10 acres of pasture, from farrow to freezer. No concrete feedlots and sub therapeutic antibiotics. We are here to support your homesteading needs:

  • feeder and breeder piglets for your farm

  • purebred and crosses available between Duroc, Tamworth and GOS lines.

  • pastured pork from our farm to your table

  • custom exempt on-farm butchering services for your animals (beef, pork, lamb and goat)

The right piglets for your farm

We sell breeding stock, as well as meat piglets year round as available. All piglets are wormed and castrated when appropriate, before they go home with you. We wean piglets at about 8 weeks of age to make sure they are healthy and independent. Spring piglets typically have the highest demand and are usually farrowed starting in early February and are ready to travel starting in early April. Contact us ahead of time in order to get on our list for spring piglets. They go quickly so don’t wait!

Piglets cost $150 a head at 8 weeks old.

Every additional week thereafter adds $25 to feed each piglet.

$50 per piglet non-refundable deposit will hold piglets for you.

All piglets are sold on a first come first served basis.

Our heritage breeding cohort is currently made up of a purebred Gloucestershire Old Spot (GOS) herd and a purebred Tamworth herd. We have purebred Duroc sows for meat crosses with both our boars. We have piglets available year round since we have 10 sows breeding at varying intervals. Our first purebred GOS litter will be arriving in spring 2024.

We chose the Tamworth breed because purebred herds are difficult to find in the northeast. Tamworths are one of the oldest breeds of swine but they are currently listed as “threatened” in the US by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust because they do not do well in “modern” pork production programs. They are typically long and lean and produce fantastic quality meat while offering some leaner genetics good for crossing with typically fattier breeds like the GOS.

Our GOS herd hails originally from the UK and were known as an “orchard pig” because they would clean up downed fruit in the fall. They graze and forage very well and are amazing mothers. They have a reputation as a “lard breed” because they store fat when fed aggressively with a “normal” swine ration that is mostly corn and soy. To optimize meat quality we feed less corn and more barley and pasture forage.

Our pork for your family

We offer whole and half sections of our own pastured pork custom processed on our farm for sale. We raise piglets and feed them out for 8-9 months on locally grown grain to a live weight of at least 250lbs during which time you are welcome to visit and feed and be as hands-on with your hog as you would like. Each hog is forest finished on acorns and fruit and we take pride in ethical slaughter of our animals with no stress leading up to the end of life which means better tasting meat. Delivery is available for a fee.

Custom butchering for your animals

(beef, pork, lamb and goats)

It’s hard to find butcher dates if you raise your own animals and want to get them processed so they can feed your family. We process your animals on our farm to your specs and vacuum seal them for safe keeping. We do not offer mobile slaughter at this time.
